What is meant by bad opinion is not those mental fantasies that occur in the mind without choice, but rather what is meant by bad opinion is the bad fantasies that a person develops in his mind and follows them in the world of imagination and mind and concludes from the premises that he formulates bad results, then seeks to build his behavior on the basis of these artificial fantasies.
Among the ways to treat this moral disease:
First: We must reform ourselves so that we do not fall - in the field of comparison between us and others - into the danger of judging their corruption. And in the stage of reforming the self, we must - in addition to denying ugly qualities - teach it that others are not evil, but rather they may possess spiritual qualities that are higher and more sublime than our qualities.
Second: We must reform the environment in which we live, as this environment may be the factor that creates suspicion in our souls. This means that we do not sit with people who are not upright in their behavior, and we seek to associate with good people so that we do not have suspicions about others, in addition to benefiting from the high ideas and prominent qualities that these good people possess.
Third: We must be careful not to rush to judge others with an unjust judgment, and we must also reduce our expectations from others. For example, if we see a friend or a family member or others who did not respond to our greetings or that they passed by where we stand and did not pay attention to us or did not invite us to a certain feast, then instead of carrying hatred in our hearts and thinking badly of them, and judging them in our minds in absentia, instead of all this, we should observe the issues with all reason and without bias, and then direct their aforementioned behavior in a good direction.
Islamic narrations advise Muslims to take the actions and words of their Muslim brothers as true, and to put forward correct possibilities to get rid of bad suspicion and remove it from their minds.
