Worshiping activities and happiness hormones

some people consider it weird that worshipping activities like praying , fasting, zakat , pilgrimage , Umrah and helping others by charity   ,stimulate happiness hormones and make us feel satisfied with a clear conscience and happiness , but they don’t consider it weird that some exercises like yoga and laugh , stimulates happiness hormones .

So, what are happiness hormones? And how they affect our psychological state?

Researches and scientific studies, shows that there are many hormones in the brain, responsible of our psychological state and adjust our feelings like depression, disturbed mood and lack of exciting or desire to do any activity.

There are some hormones and chemical transmitters that are responsible of our happiness like: Serotonin, Endorphin, Dopamine and Oxytocin.

And some researches sowed that each one has an effect on our happiness, sadness, and love or depression feelings. Dopamine keeps you mentally alerted and help you focus .Serotonin cause the satisfaction feeling , and if there was only few of it in the body , people are more likely to feel lonely and depression. Endorphin is made while practicing and doing physical activities and as long as it gets more in the body, it will reduce anxiety. Oxytocin is the love hormone, which builds strong and healthy relationship, and it is produced remarkably beside the beloved partner, during childbirth and hugging your loved ones.

So when a believer makes a physical effort , with honest and truthful well , this will stimulate these hormones , and cause happiness , purity and vanishes anxiety  , and our Quran has referred to this fact by the verse :{ Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah. for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction } , and we know that remembrance of Allah has many ways; like physical and mental worshiping , which charges the believer‘s  brain and soul with positive energy and the feeling of calmness and contentment , but this is not accomplished until that every worshiping activity is done with all its terms and ways , with serious  continuing and realistic intention .

For example: Praying is a worshiping activity that includes water at the beginning, that simplify the meanings of happiness like life, purity and clarity.. Then preceding with the other praying activities and movements which includes spiritual signs leads to humbleness in heart, and spiritual raising that generates happiness and calmness. And that is why the prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) used to tell his praying crier “Bilal”:pacify us Bilal “and he considered prayers as his beloved and jewel; for the positive changes that it “humble prayers “do to the believer.

And fasting too , when we react with its system , it bands usual needs , to create many questions , and raise our spiritual imagination – especially if it got related to Allah – and start the feeling of satisfaction and calmness , and releases people from envy , hate and grudge , which always cause sadness , and depression … and so on , like other worshiping activities that have their positive effect too .
