The Holy Prophet (PBUHH) has said: "Whoever recites the first four verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, accompanied by the ‘ayatul kursi’ together with the last three verses of this Surah - and makes a habit of reciting these verses daily – his life, property and family will be protected and no evil shall come upon them. Satan will not come close to him and he will not be from those who forget Allah the Almighty.

Imam Ja’far Al-Sadiq (PBUH) has said: “Reciting the Qur’an from the pages of the Qur’an (meaning to look at it and recite it - not from memory) brings mercy upon (lightens the punishment of) one’s mother and father, even if they are both disbelievers.”

To this he replied: "The Characteristics of a believer are five: 1) wear a ring on the right hand, 2) 51 rakkat prayers (17 mandatory and 34 recommended), 3) Pronouncing Bassmalah loudly, 4) Place of forehead of soil during prayer, 5) The Visitation of Imam Hussein during Arbaeen.
