Fall-rise and rise-fall tones followed by a tail

A rising or a falling tone is relatively easy to identify, whether it falls on a single syllable or extends over more syllables in the case of a tonic syllable followed by a tail. Fall-rise and rise-fall tones, howl theory, it seems unlikely that it would be more useful to learners of English than the traditional analysis.
