Now that you have met all of the most important ways of making organometallics (summa rized here as a reminder), we shall move on to consider how to use them to make molecules:
what sorts of electrophiles do they react with and what sorts of products can we expect to get from their reactions? Having told you how you can make other organometallics, we shall really be concerned for the rest of this chapter only with Grignard reagents and organo lithiums. In nearly all of the cases we shall talk about, the two classes of organometallics can be used interchangeably.
