One of the most important arts of raising children is self-confidence. Self-confidence is a person's belief in his goals, decisions, abilities and potentials. A person who is confident in himself is the person who respects, appreciates and trusts his abilities to make the right decisions. He is also characterized by reassurance, optimism and the ability to achieve goals. Parents should teach their children the following:
First: To be satisfied with their lives and optimistic about their future, and not to be troubled or anxious on the path to their scientific, academic and artistic goals. Rather, they move towards them with all Seriousness and diligence.
Second: To trust themselves in order to solve their various problems, and to prepare themselves for the various stages of life by relying on Allah and arming themselves with knowledge, in facing life's problems, and not to expect more from others than is necessary.
Third: They should not be arbitrary in their opinions, nor imagine themselves to be better than everyone else, nor expect encouragement or rewards for any work they do, and they should do good deeds for the sake of Allah Almighty’s pleasure, and build their lives on good qualities, and thank others for any service they provide, and defend truth and virtue.
Fourth: They should sit with their friends and participate with them in playing, sports, and outings, and they should take into consideration the issue of balance in sleeping, eating, and resting.
Fifth: That they be patient in times of calamity, and correct themselves through remembrance of God, and that they not forget the weak in times of comfort and happiness, and that they be active and light-hearted so that their spirit and actions remain sound and moderate.
