No one doubts how great the doctor’s responsibility is, and that his role in the life of humanity is great and parallel to the role of soul doctors, who are prophets. The doctor treats diseases of the body and is considered a means of preventing the causes of a person’s death and saving him from infirmities and what threatens his well-being. However, this profession, like any other, requires that the doctor have a high degree of morals and values and that he be distinguished by some characteristics that should be present in him in a consistent way. And focused; because his profession requires this, and the work situation requires him to give and make extraordinary efforts.
That is why the oath was placed on the document of humanitarian laws after the medical student graduated, and before he practiced the profession of medicine. This document includes several ethical and spiritual values, which are considered the basis for the ethics of the medical profession, which the doctor must adhere to in his specialty and his dealings with patients so that he does not do anything that harms this profession and deviates from its humanitarian goals. Unfortunately, there are some workers in the medical community who took advantage of society’s need for them, so they their profession into a trade. For them, money was above value, so poor patients found themselves under the cruelty of a greedy doctor and a greedy pharmacist... so they succumbed to the pain of illness and the disease exhausted their health, leading to death. This is what happens and it is happening! When interests prevail over cooperation, and consciences die, the warmth of compassionate hearts evaporates and the frost of estrangement takes over social ties, then the individual feels that he is in a forest and not among humans!!
It is necessary for the doctor to remind himself of the values of humanity and religion, such as honesty and sincerity in diagnosis and treatment, compassion for the patient, ease, and humility in dealing with everyone, and not make money the focus of his dealings..., and to purify his heart from the taint of avarice, bad qualities, and to think about the generosity of Allah When he entrusted him with the knowledge that would serve people, how will he fulfill his duties so that he would receive a great reward on the Day of Judgment, and leave a good legacy that would be passed down through the generations so that he would be a role model for humanity in doing good and righteousness?
