One day Al-Imam Al Husain (peace be upon him) was walking in a garden, And he saw a young boy ( a slave) sharing a loaf of bread with a dog.
Al-Imam Al-Husain (peace be upon him) said:” what are you doing ? why are you sharing your meal with this animal ?
The boy said: “ This area doesn’t have dogs , And this dog is must have come from a far place looking for food and looks hungry, And I’m troubled by an important thing, And I want Allah to release me from it . So I said to myself : “fulfil this dog’s need and be merciful with it , And may Allah fulfil my need , For I ones heard that Allah said: “If you want my mercy , Then be merciful with what I have created”, And this is one of Allah’s creatures “
Al-Imam Al Husain (peace be upon him) was amazed by these words, So he asked him : “Who is your master?”
The boy said: “I’m owned by a Jewish man”
Al-Imam Al Husain went to the Jewish’s house and knocked on his door .
The man came out and saw Al- Imam Al- Husain at his door, He said : “ Welcome my lord , Why you are here and how can I help you ?”
Al-Imam said :”I want to buy the garden and the slave that you own”
The man said :”Consider it as a gift from me , You have honored me by walking toward my house , If you want to take my garden , I will give it to you as a gift “
Al- Imam said: “And I give it to the slave as a gift and free him for Allah’s sake, And give him one thousand Dinars to help him with his life “
The Jewish man was amazed and said :” And I bear witness that there is no God but Allah , And Mohammad (peace be upon him and his progeny )is his messenger “
