How do you deal with your child in a positive manner?

In order for your child to have a healthy upbringing and not fall victim to wrong upbringing, your dealings with him should be based on sound educational foundations. It is not correct for your dealings with him to be ill-considered and your program arbitrary. Rather, dealing with children has its own rules and conditions that have been emphasized by psychologists and educationists, here are seven highlights that parents should consider:

1- Knowing his level of thinking

Dealing with a child is different from the nature of dealing with a teenager. Because the child’s thinking is simple and in line with his level of awareness, he is far from abstract thinking. For example, paradise for a child imagines it as “a place with many sweets and toys,” and fire he imagines as “resembling the fire of a fireplace,” so he can only be guided by his level as a child.

2- Guiding him indirectly

There are many ways, including stories, which should be pictorial, and through purposeful songs. Caution should be exercised when using frightening stories and scaring a child for the purpose of deterring him, for example, as it infects them with fear and panic at night while sleeping.

4- Be skilled in dialogue with him if he does something wrong.

Stay away from the language of lectures, reprimands, intimidation, angry reactions, and pre-emptive hitting. Because it is not an appropriate educational method, what the child needs is containment by embracing him and making him understand the mistake he has made.

5- Beware of negative words while talking in front of or with him:

Negative words while talking to a child or in front of him, such as (cursing, calling him stupid, stupid, or calling him an animal, for example) because that makes him sharp-tongued and not ashamed of uttering obscene expressions and objectionable words, and making him weak in character.

6- Praise your son with positive and motivating words:

As a phrase: (Excellent - well done, hero). As this is repeated in different situations, he will gain greater self-confidence, and achievement and creativity will grow in his life.

7- Do not force him to do anything, especially while playing:

You must prevent him wisely and be careful not to force him to stop or start doing something, especially while playing.
