Depend on others
7:8:44 2023-05-11 2024

Although no one wants to be a burden on their family or friends, interdependence is an essential component of successful relationships. Trust is related to our ability to provide support to our friends when they need it, and it is also based on our willingness to be open with them and share our problems with them. As the saying goes, we get rid of half of our problems when we share them with others.

We often underestimate the role human relationships play in our happiness, but research has shown, time and time again, that mutual trust is one of the best predictors of life satisfaction and fulfillment. Being able to trust your neighbors, colleagues and family is of vital importance in forming positive relationships with them: trust is the soul of a healthy society.

Ask your neighbors to take care of your pet when you're out, and then do them a favor afterward. And ask your children to give their opinions on family matters, in order to make them feel that they are part of the family decision-making process. And the more ingrained you are the idea of interdependence in your life, the less effort you will have to spend doing things alone.
