We can sometimes find our strengths by digging into our weaknesses and mistakes. Is there something in your life that others around you always advise you to improve, increase, limit, or change in some way? And if so, have you ever tried to work to change this matter, and did you strive for that? Have you ever found that you can't do what they ask of you?

And maybe what's happening here is that you're trying to change one of your personal and innate strengths, which is really hard to do, and it's not the best idea. But there is a different approach, which I strongly advise you to take, and it requires that you reflect on the comments that others have given you and look for the main purpose behind their ideas. Then you have to think about what is really going on, and whether you can actually change this "problem" and turn it into something positive. This is because if you can find a positive way out or a channel through which to change that “mistake”, which may in fact be an untapped strength, then you will definitely feel happier and success will be your ally in all areas of life. For example:

● If you've been told you need to be tougher, one of your strengths may be empathy.

● If you have been told that you need to focus on one task, perhaps one of your strengths is creativity.

● If you have been told that you are “too stubborn,” perhaps one of your strengths is perseverance.

Another way to identify your strengths is to think about the things you get complimented on often or most of the time, or whether there are tasks other people always ask you to do. Although this can be frustrating in some situations, it can also be seen as flattering and courtesy. Ask yourself, "Why do others always ask me to organize for them/or take care of the details/or lead the project?" Perhaps the answer is because they see you have strengths in this regard that you may be oblivious to. Find other patterns or ideas for compliments or requests being made. Can you identify anything in it that would reflect your strengths? And if so, can you imagine how you can harness those strengths and enjoy those activities more?
